New York City

Today was busy after church, as we took the kids into the city.  I don't have much time to write tonight, so here is the overview.  Before church three of us made breakfast, I made crepes and taught a few of the guys how to flip crepes, that was a lot of fun.  Also we really enjoyed church, we enjoyed Pastor Jimmy Jack's passion, honesty, and excitement for Jesus.  We all learned something about Joseph, Jacob's son.  He had a very disfunctional family, and God used him in a powerful way that impacted generations and generations.

Then off to New York, We rode the subway, all 22 of us.  No one was lost.  We went to Times Square.  We ate pizza.  We went to Wall St. and took pictures with the bull.  We saw where George Washington took the oath to become our first president.  We walked down broadway, and no one broke into song, not even me :-)

I do want you to know that your kids, our students were great today.  They showed
patience, and unity, and it was a pleasure leading them today.

We went to the 9/11 memorial, and it was emotional.  I stood at the memorial of the south tower and I was flooded with emotions that I had forgotten about.  My thoughts went to the men and women, the moms and dads that went to work that morning and didn't come home.  Seeing Todd Beamer's name on the wall of the south pool was a highlight for me, because I remembered his story and his wife's story and I related that to our students.  "Let's roll" is a great legacy that begs the best from us all.  To me it says, "the outcome is unknown, the task is difficult, but the right thing to do is clearly before me...lets roll.
